Berkeley County Fire provides firefighters to augment the volunteers at each of the five volunteer fire departments within the county: Back Creek Valley, Baker Heights, Bedington, Hedgesville, and South Berkeley.
FIRE & RESCUE
Utility 90 is the pickup truck used to transport Boat 90 and the spill response equipment and materials trailer. Utility 90 is equipped with a snowplow to assist Berkeley County Fire, EMS and law enforcement in times of limited access due to snow accumulation. Randy Smith donated utility 90 to Berkeley County Fire.
SWIFT WATER RESCUE
Boat 90 is a specialized heavy-duty water rescue vehicle crewed by firefighters specially trained in Swift Water Rescue operations and techniques.
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS REGIONAL RESPONSE TEAM
Berkeley County Fire is the designated West Virginia Hazardous Materials Regional Response Team for Region III. Hazmat 90 consists of a truck and trailer containing various specialty equipment to detect, test, identify, contain, and control hazardous material spills and leaks. The Hazmat Team is comprised of firefighters specially trained to handle incidences involving hazardous materials. The regional response vehicle and team provide services to Berkeley, Jefferson, Morgan, Hampshire, Hardy, Mineral and Grant counties
