MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (September 19, 2025) – For the first time in history, there are now more than 100,000 Berkeley County residents registered to vote.
As of National Voter Registration Day on September 16, 2025, there were 100,058 registered voters in Berkeley County, according to the Berkeley County Clerk’s Voter Registration & Elections Division. By comparison, there were 76,030 registered voters in Berkeley County in September 2016, according to voter registration records.
“This truly is a milestone for Berkeley County,” said Berkeley County Clerk Anthony J. “Tony” Petrucci.
“It also serves as a powerful reminder of the opportunity that County taxpayers have to make their voices heard at the ballot box.”
While election officials observed National Voter Registration Day this week, Petrucci reminds residents that they have until April 21, 2026 to register to vote if they would like to vote in the May 12, 2026 Primary Election.
