Description:

1) Contractor shall be responsible for securing all required permits. 

2) The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for all work included in this RFP. 

3) All trees 4 inches DBH and up are to be harvested. Purchaser will remove as much pulpwood or firewood as possible. All tops to be less than 2 feet above ground level. 

4) The contractor shall exercise appropriate and reasonable care to ensure that no damage will occur to the surrounding properties and will be fully responsible for any damage caused by tree and brush operations. Replacement, repair, or restoration of damaged areas by the contractor that occurs as a result of operations performed by the contractor will be the responsibility of the contractor. These improvements shall be repaired or replaced to a condition as good or better than the original condition.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:

1) Experience: Provide evidence of similar experience that demonstrates your ability to successfully provide the services requested in this RFP. Include names and contact information from three (3) past projects for reference purposes.

2) Profit Sharing: The Seller, Berkeley County Fire Board, agrees to sell and the Purchaser agrees to buy all the timber on the land located at 1392 Brown Rd, Martinsburg, WV. The Purchaser agrees to pay the Seller the Bid Value to be included in the Seller’s proposal. Purchaser to get all pulpwood and firewood for cleaning up the site.

Insurance:

The selected firm shall procure and maintain during the life of the contract the following insurance coverage from a company or companies licensed to sell insurance in West Virginia. Workers Compensation in compliance with West Virginia law; Comprehensive General Liability Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 for each occurrence for Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability. All certificates of insurance must be forwarded to the Berkeley County Fire Board prior to the commencement of any work.
