Pharmaceutical Drugs
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Department now accepts expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical substances and other medications for destruction from 8am to 12pm every Monday through Friday at their office at 510 South Raleigh Street, Martinsburg WV. the program is anonymous. Prescription and over the counter solid dosage medications, tablets and capsules are accepted. Intravenous solutions, liquids, and needles are NOT accepted. Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamines are NOT part of this initiative. Oil and Antifreeze
The Grapevine Road Recycling Center and the South Berkeley Recycling Center are accepting used automotive engine oil, transmission fluid, hydraulic oil and antifreeze for recycling. The oil and antifreeze will be accepted for free but is limited to a total of 5 gallons per visit. US-EPA rules require that the oil and antifreeze must be from residential sources only. Therefore, oil or antifreeze from businesses will not be accepted. Each oil or antifreeze container will be inspected by the recycling center attendant. Any oil mixed with water, gasoline or other liquids will be rejected. The oil or antifreeze can be of any age or manufacture.
