“There’s some people in southern West Virginia that are really struggling right now,” Berkeley County Commissioner John Hardy said. “Anything that people can do to help, is much appreciated. As soon as we get trailers full, we’ll be headed south.”
The severe weather that struck multiple southern West Virginia counties last weekend, flooded dozens of homes and businesses, left thousands of people without water service, and resulted in the death of three members of a McDowell County family. A Major Disaster Declaration has been requested by Gov. Patrick Morrisey for counties hit hardest by the severe weather and flooding.
